Yeah, i'm just asking this for fun. In your own eyes, what makes a graphic designer/artist?

Just list two things. I'm curious to see what other people think.


For me:

#1: An eye for detail.

You need to know all the little details. You need to have an eye for what looks good and what doesn't, what goes together and what doesn't go together. Looking at a painting/drawing and being able to point out the little tiny details, like example, the details on a belt, or shoes. Just knowing what the little things are and being able to point them out.

#2: Breaking Out.

An artist isn't afraid to try out new things. Sure, it's good to have something you can rely on doing, but always be willing to go out and try new things. Art in general never would have made it as far as it has today if artists didn't try out new things. You'll probably have some duds on the way if you're trying something new, but that's the beauty of art. There is no limits. If you can imagine it you can do it. But trying new things and improving on something is what really makes an artist what he/she is.
